Romeow is seeking his Juliet, or more specifically a home with a human or humans who are responsible, loving pet parents. He is available for adoption through Healing Animal Scars - Sonya's Cat & Animal Rescue Society.
Romeow is a true sweetheart of a cat, who enjoys giving and receiving affection. He is quite young, perhaps a year-and-a-half to two years old at the most. He has had a very difficult life living as a stray on the street in Shearwater for many months, possibly over a year according to neighbour reports. After such a rough start in life, he deserves to have a wonderful home where he will be catered to for as long as he lives.
When he was rescued, he had a badly broken back leg. We fund-raised to cover the cost of his orthopedic surgery, rather than simply amputating it. Thank you again to everybody who donated to his medical care!
He spent three weeks on strict cage rest thanks to the Russell Lake Animal Hospital. Then, a couple of weeks ago, he came to stay here at our house and has been staying in my daughter's bedroom. He went back to the orthopedic surgeon dr. Draper on Monday for repeat x-rays to see how his leg is healing. They said he is slowly healing but doing well and would like to perform repeat x-rays again in a month.
Like all kitties in our rescue, he was tested for feline leukaemia and FIV, has been fully vaccinated and neutered and microchipped. He also had blood work done and needs a Dentistry done. We suspect when he was hit by a car it injured one of his canines because he has a cervical lesion there. He will have the dental surgery next week. He was treated for an ear infection and of course he was treated for fleas and worms. We have done our best to get him ready for his new home.
Ideally, we would like to find somebody who has an excellent Veterinary history and can keep him inside for the rest of his life. If you think you can provide the ideal home for Romeow, please call me at 902-469-6369, that's 469-MEOW , for pre-screening interview. Then you would be asked to complete an application by emailing
Regardless of how much the rescue spends to get a cat ready for adoption, we always ask the same adoption fee of $200 for any cat or kitten. This adoption fee helps us to rescue the next cat off the streets and reassures us that you would be able to afford an ongoing Veterinary Care, should it be needed going forward.
Romeow is playful and need somebody who can spend time with him, both playing and cuddling!
Check out our page and Facebook group Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat & Animal Rescue Society four pictures and live videos that we have taken of him over the past few months
Thank you so much for reading and please share to help us find him the ideal home.
Healing Animal SCARS

Healing Animal SCARS requests a donation of $200 to adopt a kitten who has been tested for Feline Leukemia, vaccinated 3 times, spayed or neutered, microchipped and treated for parasites, as well as any other illnesses or injuries they may have.
If you are serious about adoption, please call Sonya at 902-469-6369 for a pre-screening interview, before emailing for an application. We prefer that kittens get adopted in pairs, or go to a home that has another cat to keep them company
