Description
Update Nov 30" Jasmine likes to body surf.
JASMINE is an 8 year old mixed breed who arrived on Nov 23, 2019. We are enjoying getting to know her. Jasmine is a very energetic girl for her age, she is def. not a couch potato. She loves to play, has met Casey and done some zoomies running around him trying to get him to reciprocate. We were told that Jasmine was quite vocal in her previous home, but she has not been at the shelter thus far. It would be important not to reinforce that behaviour from the get-go in a new home. There was mention that she could be guardy of her bed, but we have not yet seen that either as yet. Structure and management are good things when bringing a dog in a new home. Slow and steady and more than anything consistency wins the race.
Jasmine has a sad first story, but that story is over and she is ready to move on. We believe in seeing the dog in front of you and not being wrapped up in the dog's past. Jasmine has lived with cats earlier in her life, but we have not had a chance to retest her ourselves as yet. Jasmine is not horrible on her harness, but could use some work, she is a consummate sniffer and has her nose to the ground. Loud cars and trucks cause Jasmine to bark and sometimes lunge, so that would be another chance to work with her to get her to learn to ignore these. Jasmine is friendly but she is not a cuddly type dog, she can be aloof, but she can also be very charming. She will not be a candidate for small children. 10+ should be fine.
